I’ve used a few decent hair dryers in the past, but I’m normally an air dry kinda gal. I try to minimize the heat damage that my hair gets as my fine hair gets damaged fairly easily. So when I got the opportunity to review an xtava hair dryer*, I was a bit hesitant. Fortunately, the xtava Allure 2200W Professional Ionic Ceramic Hair Dryer with 2 Speeds & 3 Heat Settings is different!
This hair dryer has several settings and at first glance, it looks super confusing. There were so many more toggles and switches than I’m used to! Luckily, the hair dryer came with a notice and mini instructions. The wavy vertical lines signify the heater settings on the switch, straight lines are for speed, and there’s a cool switch to allow your hairstyle to set.
The packaging of the xtava hair dryer was very nice! It came in a luxe black box and looked expensive. The box was packaged nicely and there were no parts missing or broken. The only issue that I had with the packaging was that it smelled cheap, and had a heavy plastic scent which I wasn’t a fan of.
When I used this hair dryer, I was surprised at how much power it had. Since it’s got a lot more power than my old hair dryer, the dry time is a lot shorter which also means less damage! Although lightweight, this hair dryer definitely packs a punch! Not too loud, nor too heavy, this hair dryer is a great one to keep around the house. It’s a bit too large to carry for travel, but definitely something that I would have handy in my bathroom to speed up my mornings. The xtava hair dryer also came with its own nozzle for easy at-home blowouts! Lastly, because of the high wattage (2200W!), I’m glad it comes with a built-in safety shut off with the reset switches built in. Very handy! I’m glad the surge protector is there since I’m not used to appliances with that high of a wattage.
Overall, I’m glad I got to try out the xtava hair dryer since I’m normally used to travel sized hotel hair dryers. I’ll definitely be making the switch from my tiny fold up hair dryer and making this one my new default dryer!
*I received the xtava hair dryer for free, but all opinions are my own & 100% honest.
